So I'm still feeling under the weather. I guess I was in denial about it just being my sinuses acting up. I'm not sure if what I have is a really bad cold or if it is a case of the flu, but I like to think I'm on the mend. I went home sick on Saturday. I came in to work, but then as soon as I set foot in the building, I got the chills and my head was just pounding. Every time I would cough, it felt like my head was in a vise. There was no way I could last through the work day. So I drove home and then just tried to rest for the whole day.
On Sunday, I was no better. My cough sounded really bad, and I took some ibuprofen for the headache, but it was still bothering me. I felt nauseous, probably from all that congestion draining into my stomach. What I notice about being sick is that I just have no desire to eat anything healthy. When I'm well, I usually am pretty good about eating veggies and not snacking too much. When I'm sick, that is a whole 'nother story! Potato chips, chocolates, ice cream, soda...if it's unhealthy, I pretty much want it. It was similar to when I was pregnant--Taco Bell, beef jerky, salt.
Yesterday, I missed another work day. I'm sure my co-workers did not appreciate that, but I was so non-functional that I would not have survived. I'm glad I stayed home as my headache was killing me. I spent most of the day resting and vegging out, watching "Catfish" on MTV. I can't believe there are people out there who take advantage of lonely souls and scam them.
I'm still not 100%, but I'm getting back to normal, I think. I have stocked my work desk candy jar with tons of Halls & Ricola and I'm armed with hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol, so I'm ready as I'll ever be.
In other news, the Carolina Panthers are on a winning streak. Imagine that! Go Panthers!
