I'm not feeling well today. I'm very congested and I feel like I'm in a fog. There is a bit of pressure on my sinuses, so I'm hoping that a sinus infection is all it is. I've had sinus infections before...but my doctor does not believe in overuse of antibiotics, so usually I have to tough it out. If this is a sinus infection, his advice to me the last time was to:
- Drink lots of liquids--hot tea, tepid water, etc.
- Rest.
- Make some chicken soup from scratch--the kind of soup where you boil some chicken and its bones and add lots of ginger and veggies to it.
- Get a "neti pot" and flush out my sinuses.
- Take some Mucinex if the congestion is really bothering me.
Last time that worked out well, so I think I need to take his suggestion again. The only thing I'm worried about is that it won't work and it turns into a bronchial infection. I can't have that! Getting sick really messes up my routine. I am one of those people who has to multi-task. On my lunch break, I'm not eating lunch. I am at the bank, or at the grocery store, post office or gas station. Only once in a great while do I actually stay in for lunch...reading a book or playing Pokemon X or Animal Crossing on my 3DS.
It's also crossed my mind that I could be coming down with a cold. Or the flu. It is flu season, after all. And at my workplace, I do come in contact with so many people just hacking all their germs away. I try to use the hand sanitizer whenever I can, and I made sure to get the flu shot last month. Still, anything is possible and I know the flu shot won't protect against every strain. :( I'm just not a happy girl right now.
